The laser instead of the drill, sedation for those who cannot manage otherwise

In Westmount, the practice is in its second Casey generation: Dr Patrick Casey, a McGill graduate, joined his father’s practice in 1996, and the sign has served the neighbourhood for more than half a century. His combination remains rare in Montreal — training in “drill-free” laser dentistry together with sedation certification. A cavity can therefore be treated with no needle and none of the handpiece noise, which changes everything for someone who has postponed care for years.

Reconstruction: root canal therapy, extraction, wisdom teeth, full mouth rehabilitation. Cosmetic: ceramic veneers, porcelain crowns, a crown placed in the same session, gum reshaping, whitening, orthodontics. Add periodontal care, inlays and onlays, chronic halitosis, sleep apnea treatment and neuromuscular dentistry for the temporomandibular joint.

Technology

i-CAT 3D imaging reads the bone, the maxillary sinuses and the path of the mandibular nerve before an implant is placed; for All-on-4, an nSequence surgical guide is seated on the ridge to mark where the screws go. E4D CAD/CAM milling produces metal-free inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges in a single visit. The laser removes diseased tissue without an incision and seals the vessels, which avoids sutures. Room air passes through six-stage Surgically Clean Air filtration.

The dentist

Dr Patrick Casey is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Academy of General Dentistry; his neuromuscular work comes from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He first concentrated on implantology, then added oral and intravenous sedation. Shani Coiteux handles hygiene.
