Opened in 1981 by Dr Suzanne David on three words — competence, honesty and responsibility — Clinique Dentaire 1935 has remained a small neighbourhood practice in Ville-Marie. Two generalists follow the same patients year after year, and the pathway does not leave the building: the implant, the bone graft and the crown are all done under one roof, by the same hands.

Treatments and services

Minimally invasive cleaning and examination, cavities treated by remineralisation and then restoration, periodontal screening and care, root canal therapy to keep the natural tooth. Zirconia, ceramic, porcelain or gold crowns, fixed bridges, extractions, wisdom teeth, with heavier cases referred to maxillofacial surgery. Complete and partial removable dentures, with a denturologist on the team. Whitening and veneers on the cosmetic side.

Implantology and CEREC

Implantology covers the porcelain implant crown, the fixed implant bridge and fixed or removable prostheses for a fully edentulous jaw. When bone is missing, the clinic rebuilds it: socket grafting, guided bone regeneration, sinus lift, PRF. A CEREC restoration is milled with a diamond bur from a ceramic block and placed in the same session, with no metal framework and no second appointment. It lasts longer than an amalgam or composite filling.

The team

Dr Marc Cloutier, D.M.D. from the Université de Montréal, has practised since 1999: general and cosmetic dentistry, implantology, oral surgery. Dr Rose-Marie Tétreault, D.M.D. from the same faculty in 1998, handles general dentistry. Around them work hygienists, assistants, dental technicians, a denturologist and a coordinator. You are received in French and English.

Emergencies

A knocked-out tooth, an abscess or a swollen face, pain that resists painkillers, a fractured tooth with an exposed nerve, a lost crown or filling: severity is judged by phone and the nearest slot is offered, within 48 hours. A new patient is taken as an emergency too.

Do I have to come back to have the crown fitted? With CEREC, no — the piece is milled from a ceramic block and placed in the same session.

A tooth has just been knocked out, what should I do? The useful window is 30 to 60 minutes: keep the tooth or the fragments in milk and call straight away.

Are implants placed on site? Yes, grafting included: socket grafting, guided regeneration, sinus lift and PRF.
